Dr Oliver Seyfried, MB BS FRCA FFPMRCA

Dr Oliver Seyfried is a pain physician working in London. He qualified from Saint Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in 1999 and from there went on to study anaesthesia and pain medicine, having discovered an early love for both disciplines, at other equally prestigious institutions.

Biography

Dr Seyfried’s specialist pain training was undertake at St. George’s, King’s College and St. Thomas’ hospitals where he was exposed to the very highest training in his chosen speciality. It was during this time he was awarded the trainee publication prize from The Faculty of Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists for his work on strong pain killers (opioids).

In 2013 he was appointed as a consulting physician to St. George’s Hospital, London where he manages a busy NHS practice, often for patients with very complex pain issues. He provides top level care with compassion and honesty. His private practice is run out of the following hospitals: The Lister Hospital, Chelsea, Bupa Cromwell Hospital, Kensington and St. Anthony’s Hospital, North Cheam.

He has an interest in the management of all pain types – both simple and complex – and understands the profound effect it can have on patients, their friends and families. Pain can be an extremely destructive force and Dr Seyfried appreciates how difficult a life in pain can be.

He espouses a multidisciplinary and biopsychosocial approach to pain management and will, if needs be, undertake your treatment plan with the help of other health professionals all driving towards an improvement in your quality of life.

Oliver is a fully accredited specialist pain physician and on the specialist register with the General Medical Council (GMC) (number 4642648). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He is also a member of the BPS, IASP, DAS, OAA and the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries.
